Kansas City, Mo. -- Top seeded Lindenwood will face off with fourth seeded Fort Hays State in the opening round of the MIAA Men's Soccer Tournament. The two teams met earlier this season and the LWU defense stonewalled a potent FHSU offense. For the Lions Craig McTear scored a goal off a corner in the 57th minute to give Lindenwood the 1-0 victory. The Lions are led by Andre Hayne and Azeem Razwan who each have four goals on the season. Alfredo Paez has three goals on the year and 10 different players have assisted goals. Between the pipes Fermin Hughes is 11-2-3 with a 0.68 goals against average and eight shutouts. The Tigers are led by Tomas Mares who has eight goals and two assists and Diego Cabral with seven goals and four assists. Daniel Peralta has six goals and Michael Cole has five goals and two assists, Tanner Brock leads the team with six assists. In goal Kent Freund is 4-2-2 with a 1.30 goals against average and one shutout. The two teams will face off at 7 p.m. on Nov. 1 from the Olathe District Activities Complex in Olathe, Kan.
