KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced new Football Athlete of the Week awards for week three of the 2026 season. Central Missouri quarterback Jordan Pachot and Emporia State linebacker Landon Boss both repeat as the league’s Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week, respectively. The Mules tabbed a second weekly honor with kicker Will Peacock named the MIAA’s Special Teams Athlete of the Week.
OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Jordan Pachot, QB, Central Missouri
Central Missouri’s starting quarterback Jordan Pachot is the league’s first back-to-back Offensive Athlete of the Week in the 2026 football season. Pachot helped the Mules post a 59-10 win over Delta State last Saturday evening (Sept. 12) at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg. The fifth-year from Highland, Calif., went 32-of-47 for 391 yards with four passing touchdowns and added a four-yard rushing touchdown for five total touchdowns in the contest. Pachot threw passing touchdowns of 47, 53, 57, and 17 yards, helping the Central Missouri offense to 674 total yards — the most total offense yards in a single game since 2023.
DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Landon Boss, LB, Emporia State
Landon Boss, the reigning MIAA Defensive Player of the Year, begins the 2026 season as the league’s back-to-back-to-back Defensive Athlete of the Week. Boss led the Hornets defense in a battle between two top 25-ranked teams. The senior linebacker finished with a game-high 13 tackles, four of which were for a loss, a sack, and two quarterback hurries as the No. 24-ranked Hornets upset No. 20-ranked Michigan Tech 34-20 in Emporia. It was the second double-digit tackle game this season for Boss, while his 4.0 tackles for loss tied his career high. Boss and the Hornets defense shut out the Huskies in the second half, allowing just 48 yards of offense on seven possessions after halftime. The victory marked Emporia State's second straight win over a nationally ranked opponent this season.
SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Will Peacock, K, Central Missouri
Mules’ kicker Will Peacock was automatic in Central Missouri’s 59-10 victory over Delta State last Saturday in Warrensburg. Peacock, a senior from Greenwood, Mo., made all eight of his extra-point attempts and landed a 34-yard field goal to contribute 11 of the Mules’ 59 points scored. He is now 17-of-17 in PAT attempts this season.
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Jamison Sarver, QB, Emporia State
Sophomore quarterback Jamison Sarver threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns and added 25 rushing yards with a touchdown in his first start of the season as No. 24-ranked Emporia State upset No. 20 Michigan Tech at the Hornets Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan. Sarver found out he would be starting in place of injured senior quarterback Ben Harris on the Thursday evening before Saturday’s game. He responded by leading the Hornets to a touchdown on their opening drive against the nationally ranked Huskies. With Emporia trailing 20-17 at the half, Sarver led the Hornets to 17 second-half points for the win. It is the third time in five career starts that he has led Emporia to win when they were tied or trailing at the half.
Broc Worcester, LB, Missouri Western
Broc Worcester turned in an impact performance in Missouri Western’s 42-30 road win over Missouri S&T, helping the Griffons earn their first victory of the season. Worcester finished second on the team with 12 total tackles, including seven solo stops and five assisted tackles, while adding 1.0 tackle for loss. The junior linebacker also delivered one of the biggest plays of the game, intercepting a Missouri S&T pass and returning it 34 yards for a touchdown with 7:29 remaining in the first quarter. The pick-six extended MoWest’s early advantage to 21-0 and was one of four interceptions recorded by the Griffon defense.
Brandon McCary, K, Emporia State
Brandon McCary hit all four extra-point attempts and his first two field goal attempts as a Hornet in No. 24 Emporia State's 34-20 win over No. 20 Michigan Tech. He connected on field goals of 21 and 40 yards in the win. The junior kicker has now extended his consecutive made PAT streak to 40.
