SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Ramon Strassmann of Ouachita Baptist University was named the Athletic Solutions “A Game” Scholar-Athlete of the 2026 MIAA/GAC Men’s Tennis Championship. This is Strassmann’s second “A Game” Scholar-Athlete award, also earning the honor at the 2025 postseason championship.

The top eight MIAA/GAC teams from the regular season met in Springfield, Mo., this week for the Association’s postseason men’s tennis championship, hosted April 28-May 1 at the Cooper Tennis Complex. Among the many NCAA Division II men’s tennis players competing in the championship, Ouachita’s Ramon Strassmann was selected as the championship’s “A Game” Scholar-Athlete for his performances on and off the court.

Established by the MIAA in 2022, “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award presented by Athletic Solutions acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team’s success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

Strassmann is a senior from Mueselbach, Switzerland, on the Tigers’ men’s tennis team. He owns a perfect 4.0 grade point average with 128 credits completed as a finance and business administration major.

Maddux enters the Association’s 2026 postseason tournament as the No. 56-ranked singles player and a member of the No. 22-ranked doubles duo in Division II. He finished the regular season with an overall record of 18-4 at No. 1 singles and was 13-8 in doubles competition, mostly playing from the No. 1 position with teammate Yarin Aebi. Strassmann also earned the Association’s 2026 Sportsmanship Award and was named a Second Team All-MIAA/GAC Singles player and a Second Team All-MIAA/GAC Doubles selection with Aebi.

Strassmann is the only Ouachita student-athlete to earn the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete honor and the first MIAA/GAC men’s tennis player to earn the award in back-to-back seasons.
