WARRENSBURG, Mo – The University of Nebraska Kearney won its first women’s golf tournament title since 2022 with a two-stroke lead. The Lopers had three golfers place in the top ten, led by the 2026 individual runner-up, Liz Lyons.
All 13 MIAA women’s golf teams were in Warrensburg, Mo., April 20-22 for the Association’s 2026 Women’s Golf Championship, hosted at the Mules National Golf Club. Nebraska Kearney was crowned the MIAA champion after winning the three-day, 54-hole event with a team total of 907 (+67). The title marks the Lopers’ second MIAA championship since joining the league in 2012.
The Lopers had a two-stroke lead on the championship’s runner-up, Washburn with a team score of 909 (+69). Rogers State placed third with a score of 923, followed by Central Missouri in fourth (929) and Arkansas-Fort Smith in fifth (932).
All five of Nebraska Kearney’s golfers placed within the championship’s top 16 individuals. Nebraska Kearney’s Liz Lyons was the individual MIAA runner-up with a three-round score of +13, 223.
This year’s individual MIAA Champion is Northeastern State’s Jessica Parker. She finished the three-day event with a total score of +12 (222). The senior from Lancaster, England, carded rounds of 73 (+3), 73 (+3), and 76 (+6) to be crowned the back-to-back individual champion for Northeastern State after Sam Maceli (229) won in 2025.
Within the top 13 individual finishers, 8 different schools were represented by one or more of their teams’ golfers. Rogers State’s Milena Andres and Washburn’s Susana Granados Carrion tied for third place with three-round totals of 225. Northwest Missouri’s Lauren Briggs placed fifth (+16, 226) followed by Washburn’s Angelina Borg-Malec and Northwest Missouri’s Alexis Bartley in a tie for sixth (+17, 227). Arkansas-Fort Smith Aliesa Situmorang placed eighth at +18, (228). There was a five-way tie for ninth place with Nebraska Kearney’s Emmie Rhude, Rogers State’s Lauren Anderson, Central Missouri’s Hannah Mottert, Nebraska Kearney’s Calie Dockter, and Missouri Western’s Ines Vandaele all finishing at +19 (229).
With the victory, Nebraska Kearney earns the league’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division II women’s golf postseason. The Lopers will now head to the NCAA Central Regional Championships in St. Joseph, Missouri, May 4-6. The full field advancing to the regional championship will be announced on April 26 on
