Bronchos Golf Crowned Back-to-Back MIAA Champions

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma won its second consecutive men’s golf tournament title with a 21-stroke lead. The Bronchos had three golfers place in the top three, led by the 2026 individual MIAA Champion, Baylor Bostick.
 
All 11 MIAA men’s golf teams were in Jefferson City, Mo., April 13-15 for the Association’s 2026 Men’s Golf Championship, hosted at the Jefferson City Country Club. Central Oklahoma was crowned the back-to-back MIAA champion after winning the three-day, 54-hole event with a team total of 853 (-11). The title marks the Bronchos’ fifth MIAA championship since joining the league in 2012.
 
The Bronchos had a 21-stroke lead on the championship’s runner-up, Central Missouri, with a team score of 874 (+10). Washburn placed third with a score of 878, followed by Newman in fourth (883) and Missouri Western in fifth (887).
 
All five of Central Oklahoma’s golfers placed within the championship’s 11 individuals. Central Oklahoma’s Baylor Bostick was crowned the individual MIAA Champion with a three-round score of -7, 209. The junior from Duncan, Okla., carded rounds of 74 (+2), 67 (-5) and 68 (-4) to become the first Broncho to win the MIAA tournament title since 2017 (Alexander Hughes, 215). Central Oklahoma’s Rhett Hughes was the individual runner-up with a total score of -5, 211, and Nicholas Canales tied for third with an even 216.
 
Newman’s Braxton Muldoon and Central Missouri’s Kale Flinton also tied for third place with three-round totals of 216. Washburn’s Jacob Fratzel placed sixth (+1, 217), followed by Fort Hays State’s Cooper Scheck and Arkansas-Fort Smith’s Chandler Cooke in a tie for seventh (+2, 218). Central Oklahoma’s Karsten Paciotti and Ty Hyatt tied for ninth (+3, 219) to conclude the championship’s top individuals.

Central Oklahoma also captured the 2025-26 MIAA men's golf regular season championship title with a first place finish in all four of the Association's 2025-26 designated events. 
 
With the victory, Central Oklahoma earns the league’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division II men’s golf postseason. The Bronchos will now head to the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional Championships in Big Rapids, Michigan, May 7-9.
