KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced new Athletes of the Week from the tenth week of the 2026 baseball season. Washburn's Levi Risenhoover earned the Ichabods' first Hitter of the Week honor and Pittsburg State's Bradyn McClure claimed his first Pitcher of the Week award.
MIAA HITTER OF THE WEEK: Levi Risenhoover, Washburn
Levi Risenhoover had a big week at the plate in an undefeated week for the Ichabods. The junior outfielder went 9-for-17 (.529) with a 1.118 slugging percentage and 1.697 OPS across the four victories. He totaled five extra-base hits, including two home runs, while leading the league with 10 RBI on the week and scoring eight runs himself. In the series finale 10-0 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith, Risenhoover went 3-for-4 with a home run, triple and a walk while driving in four runs and scoring three.
MIAA PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Bradyn McClure, Pittsburg State
Bradyn McClure limited Northeastern State to just three hits over 7.0 innings of work as the Gorillas blanked the RiverHawks, 9-0, last Thursday (Apr. 9). The Wichita native issued two walks and registered a season-high 11 strikeouts while combining on a five-hit shutout with reliever Ricardo Hernandez in the contest. The game marked just McClure's second start of the season. He improved to 4-0 on the year with a 3.27 ERA and four saves.

MIAA HITTERS
Cole Funkhouser, Central Missouri
Cole Funkhouser hit .368 with seven hits in 19 at-bats as the Mules went 3-1 last week. The redshirt sophomore tallied five runs, two doubles, two homers, eight RBI, two walks, three stolen bases, a .789 slugging percentage and .455 on-base percentage. He went 2-for-6 with two homers and four RBI in UCM's 15-2 game one win at Fort Hays State on Friday (Apr. 10). He then went 3-for-6 with two RBI and two stolen bases in the series finale against the Tigers on Sunday (Apr. 12).
Micah Kobuszewski, Missouri Western
Micah Kobuszewski delivered a standout three-game stretch, going 8-for-14 (.571) with seven runs scored, two triples and five RBI while helping Griffon Baseball to three wins. In a 7-3 mid-week win over Northwest Missouri, Kobuszewski helped the Griffons secure the season series over the Bearcats by going 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBI. He followed with a perfect day at the plate in an 18-7 win over Rockhurst (Apr. 10), finishing 4-for-4 with five runs scored, two RBI, a triple, and a walk. He closed the week in an 8-7 win over Rockhurst (Apr. 12), going 2-for-5 with an RBI. Over the three games, Kobuszewski recorded a hit in each contest and multiple hits in all three, finishing with a .600 on-base percentage and an .857 slugging percentage while consistently sparking the Griffon offense. He has also recorded a hit in 15 straight games and continues to swing one of the hottest bats for the Griffons, who have won 11 of their last 12.
MIAA PITCHERS
Owen Schneider, Missouri Southern
Owen Schneider went 1-0 over his one appearance this week for Missouri Southern. Schneider threw 8.0 innings with four strikeouts and a 1.13 ERA. He limited opposing hitters to a .083 batting average. In the Lions’ 3-1 win over Emporia State, Schneider allowed just one earned run on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks over eight innings of work. He improved to 7-0 in 2026, including a 5-0 mark in MIAA games.
Brandon Chavez, Fort Hays State
Brandon Chavez struck out nine batters in six innings of relief against No. 16-ranked Central Missouri last Saturday (Apr. 11), allowing only one unearned run on two hits and two walks. He limited the 24 batters he faced to a .100 batting average.
Colby Deaver, Emporia State
Deaver started the series opener against the Missouri Southern last Friday (Apr. 10) and put together his seventh quality start of the season, going 7.0 innings with one hit, one run and one walk allowed while striking out five batters. His five strikeouts mark his ninth start this season with five or more strikeouts or more.
