KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma University’s Gabe Johnson was crowned the MIAA’s Most Dominant Wrestler in the 2025-26 NCAA Division II wrestling season. The three-time national champion at 157 pounds led the league with an average of 4.77 points scored per match.
Gabe Johnson capped his sensational career March 14 at the NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D. with his third straight 157-pound national title to finish off a dominating 23-0 season.
The senior from Choctaw finished the season with eight technical falls, six pins and two major decisions while allowing just nine offensive points all year. Johnson was also named Division II’s Most Dominant Wrestler at the national tournament and the Wrestler of the Year in the Super Region IV. His Region Wrestler of the Year honor puts him on the ballot in voting for the 2025-26 NCAA Division II Wrestler of the Year, which will be announced next week by the
National Wrestling Coaches Association.
Johnson ended his spectacular career with a 114-16 record, winning 64 of his last 65 matches and concluding his career on a 36-match win streak. His .877 career winning percentage ranks sixth in the Bronchos wrestling record book, while his 114 career wins rank 17th on the Bronchos’ all-time wins list. Johnson will graduate as the program’s technical fall record holder with 30 career tech falls.
