2025-26 MIAA Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its preseason rankings for the 2025-26 men’s golf season. The Bronchos of Central Oklahoma were once again selected as the league’s favorite to take home the MIAA crown in the upcoming season.
 
Central Oklahoma topped the 2025-26 MIAA men’s golf preseason coaches poll with nine first-place votes and 99 total points. The Bronchos are the defending MIAA regular season champions, MIAA tournament champions, and NCAA Division II regional champions. After taking first place in the NCAA Central/Midwest Super Regional Championship, Central Oklahoma automatically advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championship where the Bronchos ended their season with a ninth-place finish.
 
The Mules of Central Missouri were selected second in the coaches preseason poll with 90 points and the remaining first-place selections (2). Central Missouri finished its 2024-25 season as the league’s runner-up in both the regular season and postseason action. The Mules finished fourth at the NCAA Central/Midwest Super Regional to join the Bronchos in the Division II National Championship where they placed 19th overall.
 
Washburn was picked third in the coaches’ preseason rankings with 75 points and Arkansas-Fort Smith finished fourth with 66 points. Both the Ichabdos and Lions earned at-large berths from the NCAA postseason where Washburn placed 12th and Fort Smith finished 18th at the Central/Midwest Super Regional Championship.
 
Fort Hays State concluded the coaches’ top five teams for the 2025-26 season with 55 points in the preseason poll. Finishing just four points behind the Tigers was Missouri Western in sixth with 51 points, Northeastern State was slatted seventh with 41 points, Newman was picked ninth with 38 points, and Missouri Southern finished ninth with 35 points. Rogers State and Pittsburg State occupied the final spots in the MIAA head coaches preseason poll.
 
All 11 MIAA men’s golf teams are on the course today for the first time in the 2025-26 season. MIAA teams will compete in four designated events throughout the academic year to determine the league’s regular season champion. The designated events for the 2025-26 season are Northeastern State's Men's Classic (Sept. 15-16) and Missouri Southern's Fall Invitational (October 20-21) in the fall, and Pittsburg State's Silverback Invite (March 30-31) and the 2026 MIAA Men's Golf Championship (April 12-15) in the spring.
