KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association released its first team and individual standings for the 2025-26 men’s golf season. Central Oklahoma is off to an early lead in the standings after earning the team title at the Association’s first designated event of the season. Arkansas-Fort Smith's Sam Sewell won the event to currently lead the individual standings.
MIAA standings for men’s golf are calculated from points awarded based on team and individual placings at four separate designated events throughout the season. Points are assigned to MIAA teams and individuals based on their finish in each event. The top 15 individuals from the MIAA are awarded points based on their individual placing at the designated events, and golfers must compete as part of their team’s official five-man roster (not as an individual) in the event to earn points towards MIAA standings.
The Designated Events for the 2025-26 season are Northeastern State’s
Men's Classic (Sept. 15-16) and Missouri Southern's
Fall Invitational (October 20-21) in the fall, and Pittsburg State's
Silverback Invite (March 30-31) and the
2026 MIAA Men's Golf Championship (April 12-15) in the spring.
The Bronchos won the NSU Men’s Classic to take the first lead in the 2025-26 standings. Central Oklahoma’s top four golfers each placed in the Classic’s top 25 for a 54-hole team total of 828 (-24), finishing seven strokes ahead of the event’s runner-up, Central Missouri. The Mules’ runner-up finish puts them second in the MIAA standings, followed by Pittsburg State in third with a third-place finish at the NSU Men’s Classic.
Three MIAA golfers placed in the top three at the NSU Men’s Classic, led by Sam Sewell of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Sewell claimed the individual crown with a three-round score of 202 (-11) to take an early lead in the league’s individual standings.
Central Missouri’s CJ Phillips was the individual runner-up with a score of 203 (-10) to move into second in the MIAA standings, followed by Nicolas Canales of Central Oklahoma in third with a third-place finish at the NSU Men’s Classic, carding a 204 (-9). Rogers State’s Kobsak Phisitbuntoon and Central Missouri’s Nick Fallin both finished the Men’s Classic in a tie for fifth to conclude the individual standings’ top five.
Below are the current 2025-26 MIAA men’s golf standings following the first designated event of the season.
The next MIAA men’s golf standings update will be released after the conclusion of the Association’s second designated event of the 2025-26 season, hosted by Missouri Southern, October 20-21, at the Shangri-La Resort in Monkey Island, Okla.
