2025 MIAA Women's Soccer Preseason Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced the results of its preseason coaches poll for the 2025 women’s soccer season. The Jennies of Central Missouri were selected as the league’s favorite to take home the regular season crown.
 
Central Missouri, the league’s defending tournament champion, totaled 132 points and four first-place votes in the 2025 MIAA women’s soccer preseason coaches poll. The Jennies finished third in the league last season with an MIAA record of 9-2-1 but collected a league-high 17 wins overall. Central Missouri’s 2024 season ended in the NCAA Division II Central Region championship match, suffering a 1-0 double-overtime loss to Minnesota State. The Mavericks went on to compete for the 2024 NCAA Division II national title.
 
Central Oklahoma finished second in the coaches poll with 126 points and four first-place selections. Just two points behind the Bronchos was Missouri Western in third with 124 points, and just one point behind the Griffons was Washburn with 123 points and the remaining. – and majority – first place votes with five.
 
The Bronchos, Griffons and Ichabods each joined Central Missouri in the 2024 NCAA postseason, all falling within the first two rounds of the Central Region tournament. Washburn ended last season with an MIAA record of 10-1-1 to be crowned the league’s back-to-back regular season champion and the top seed in the Association’s postseason tournament.
 
Northeastern State concluded the coaches’ top five teams in the upcoming season with 92 points in the poll. The RiverHawks went 7-5 against league opponents and were the only team in the league to finish the year without a tie, posting an overall record of 14-6 last season.
 
Northwest Missouri finished in the No. 6 spot with 89 points, followed by Pittsburg State in seventh with 71 points and Nebraska Kearney in eighth with 69 points. Fort Hays State was picked No. 9, Emporia State No. 10, Rogers State No. 11, Missouri Southern No. 12, and Newman No. 12.
 
The 2025 NCAA Division II women’s soccer season is officially underway with MIAA soccer matches beginning Thursday, Sept. 25. The 2025 MIAA Soccer Women’s Championship is set for Nov. 9, 13 and 15, with the semifinal matches and championship match returning to the Scheels’ Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas.
