CLEVELAND, Ohio – Thirteen MIAA member institutions appear in the final standings for the 2024-2025 NCAA Division II Learfield Director’s Cup with four institutions finishing in the top 20. Pittsburg State University led the MIAA with a seventh-place finish.
The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) released the 323 NCAA Division II institutions that appear on the final standings of the Division’s 2024-25 Learfield Director’s Cup. Grand Valley State University won the cup for the 17th time in the Learfield Director’s Cup history. The Lakers totaled 1,080.50 points across 19 sports.
The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association was the only NCAA Division II conference to have four member institutions listed in the standing’s top 20 and eight listed in the top 70.
Pittsburg State was the only MIAA institution to finish among the top ten NCAA Division II institutions. The Gorillas, who field 14 Division II teams, complied 709 total points – 152 points during the fall, 283 points during the winter seasons and 274 points during the spring. The seventh-place finish is Pitt State’s highest all-time placement in the Learfield Director’s Cup standings after finishing 10th in the 2023-24 academic year. The Gorillas accounted for three of the MIAA’s four NCAA Division II national championship teams in 2024-25.
Washburn, Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma were also listed among the top 20 NCAA Division II institutions from the 2024-25 academic year. The Ichabods finished 15th with 556 total points, followed closely by the Mules and Jennies in 16th with 554 points, and the Bronchos in 18th with 546 points.
Nebraska Kearney – responsible for the Association’s fourth team national title in 2024-25 – finished 54th with 359.5 combined points. Northwest Missouri totaled 351 points to finish just one spot behind the Lopers in 55th. Missouri Southern and Fort Hays State rank 66th and 69th on the standings, respectively. Rogers State was four spots out of the top 100 NCAA Division II institutions at 104, followed by Missouri Western at 120, Arkansas-Fort Smith at 206, Newman at 238 and Emporia State at 245.
The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in NCAA Division II Championships.
