KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its postseason awards and All-MIAA teams for the 2025 baseball season. Eighty-seven NCAA Division II student-athletes from all 13 MIAA baseball teams earned postseason honors, highlighted by the Association’s six major award winners.

The MIAA handed out a total of 95 postseason honors with eight players receiving more than one award. Central Missouri, the 2025 regular season champion, collected a league-high 17 postseason honors. Pittsburg State, the regular season runner-up, received 13 honors followed by Central Oklahoma with 11 and Fort Hays State with 10.

The season’s highest honor was awarded to two players – Central Missouri’s Jacob Steele and Central Oklahoma’s Caden Robertson.

Co-Player of the Year Jacob Steele helped lead Central Missouri to its sixth straight regular season title as the Mules posted an MIAA record of 29-7. The senior third baseman from St. Peters, Mo., leads MIAA in the box with a .391 season batting average. In 197 regular season at-bats, Steele recorded an MIAA-leading 77 hits, 58 runs scored and 53 RBI. He totaled 12 doubles, three triples and 11 home runs for a .650 slugging percentage. Steele started 47 games at third base and was a part of 63 outs and 81 assists while owning a .986 fielding percentage.

Co-Player of the Year Caden Robertson led the Bronchos to a fourth-place finish in the 2025 regular season with a league record of 23-13. A senior outfielder from Magnolia, Texas, Robertson was one of the league’s biggest hitters this season. His 73 RBI and 22 home runs both lead the MIAA while his .857 slugging percentage also leads all MIAA hitters. His .376 batting average, 71 hits, 61 runs scored and 19 doubles also rank in the league’s top ten in each category. Defensively, the Bronchos starting left fielder accounted for 63 outs and three assists while owning a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.

The Association’s Pitcher of the Year award was also awarded to two players – Pittsburg State’s Kolby Dougan and Fort Hays State’s Ty Riley.

Co-Pitcher of the Year Kolby Dougan owns a league-best .150 opposing batting average while his 2.03 ERA and 102 strikeouts both rank second among MIAA pitchers. In 62.0 innings pitched, the graduate student from Topeka, Kan., has allowed 32 hits, just 15 runs scored (14 earned runs) and 16 walks while registering 102 strikeouts. He’s 7-0 on the season.

Co-Pitcher of the Year Ty Riley leads the MIAA with 111 strikeouts. A senior from Bentonville, Ark., Riley has pitched the second-most innings in the league this season with 89.2 innings in 15 appearances and 14 starts. His 2.91 ERA ranks fourth in the league while his .185 opposing batting average ranks second. He’s allowed 61 hits, 31 runs (29 earned) and 38 walks in 329 at-bats this season.

Central Missouri’s Cole Kreisel was honored as the MIAA Freshman of the Year. A first year shortstop from Warrensburg, Mo., Kreisel is hitting .379 with 53 hits, 43 runs, eight doubles, one triple, three home runs, 25 RBI, a team-high 32 walks, a .522 on-base percentage and 11 stolen bases in 44 games this season. His batting average and on-base percentage both rank within the league's top-ten.

Fort Hays State’s head coach Justin Wichert was selected as the Steve Anson Coach of the Year by his peers. Wichert helped guide the Tigers to their first 30-win season in 15 years and their highest win total in 18 seasons. The Tigers' 26 conference wins are the most for the team since joining the MIAA in 2007. Wichert is the first FHSU head coach to earn the MIAA Coach of the Year recognition and is the first to earn a conference coach of the year honor since Matt Ranson in 2006 (RMAC Coach of the Year).
