KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The bracket is set for the 2025 MIAA Baseball Championship, hosted by Missouri Southern State University May 7-10 on the Lions’
Warren Turner Field in Joplin, Mo. The top ten teams from the regular season advance to the league’s single-elimination postseason championship tournament, led by the top-seeded Central Missouri Mules.
Central Missouri was crowned the MIAA regular season champion for the sixth straight season and 31st time in program history. The Mules ended the 2025 regular season with an MIAA record of 28-7. Central Missouri will be the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament and will take on the lowest advancing seed from the championship’s opening round.
Pittsburg State claimed the No. 2 seed in the MIAA postseason with an MIAA record of 27-9. The Gorillas will take on the other advancing team from the opening round.
Fort Hays State (26-10) earned the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 seeded Northwest Missouri (19-17) in the night game of the MIAA quarterfinals on Thursday, May 8. Rogers State (19-17) tabbed the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 seeded Central Oklahoma (23-13) in the first quarterfinal contest at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Both the Bearcats and Hillcats finished the regular season with league records of 19-17. Rogers State won the tiebreaker for the higher seed thanks to the Hillcats’ 2-1 MIAA series win over the Bearcats in the regular season.
Washburn and Missouri Southern each finished the regular season with league records of 18-18. Thanks to Washburn’s 3-0 MIAA series sweep of Southern, the Ichabods clinched the No. 7 seed and will open the 2025 tournament against No. 10 seeded Northeastern State (13-23) at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7. The Lions will be the No. 8 seed and will face No. 9 seeded Emporia State (16-20) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
