MIAA Collects Nine National Titles and 58 First Team All-America Performances at 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships

PUEBLO, Co. The men of Pittsburg State University highlighted the MIAA’s performances at the 2025 NCAA Division II Track & Field National Championships, taking home their fourth consecutive outdoor national title. The Association also totaled 58 First Team All-America performances, eight individual outdoor national champions and one national champion relay team.
 
One hundred and 27 student-athletes from nine different MIAA institutions competed in the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted May 22-24 at Colorado State University-Pueblo’s ThunderBowl in Pueblo, Colorado.
 
The Pitt State men dominated the competition, winning the event with 111 total team points for a 45-point lead on the men’s championship’s runner-up, West Texas A&M (66 points). The Gorillas’ 111 team points is the most points scored in the men’s outdoor national championship since 2014 when St. Augustine on the title with 112 points. Pittsburg State has now won the last seven consecutive NCAA Division II track and field national championships, winning indoor titles in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and outdoor titles in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
 
The Gorillas also led the MIAA in the women’s national championship, placing third with 54.5 team points. Grand Valley State won the 2025 women’s outdoor national title with 60 total points.
 
The MIAA had eight individual national champions and one national championship replay team at the 2025 outdoor championships. The league also totaled 53 individual First Team All-America performances (28 men, 25 women) and five First Team All-America relay teams (three men’s, two women’s). There were seven events at the outdoor championships where MIAA teams had three or more individuals place in the top-eight in the event, led by the women's javelin throw and the men's 110 meter hurdles with five MIAA student-athletes placing in the top eight those events.
