KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its postseason awards and All-MIAA teams from the 2025 softball season. Fifty NCAA Division II softball players from 12 different MIAA institutions earned postseason honors, highlighted by the Association’s five major award winners.

Central Oklahoma’s Terin Ritz was crowned the 2025 Player of the Year and her teammate Rylee Lemos was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Missouri Southern’s Kiki Pickens earned the MIAA Pitcher of the Year title while her teammate Bailey Dillon was honored as the league’s Freshman of the Year. The Central Oklahoma coaching staff was voted the MIAA Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers.

The 2025 MIAA regular season champion Central Oklahoma had seven players receive postseason recognition. Pittsburg State and Rogers State also had seven student-athletes earn All-MIAA honors, followed by Missouri Southern with six and Central Missouri with four.

Terin Ritz is the MIAA Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after earning Co-Player of the Year honors in 2024. She’s the league’s first back-to-back softball Player of the Year since former Broncho Carrie Adams earned consecutive titles in 2017 and ’18. She was also the only unanimous First Team All-MIAA selection this season.

Ritz helped the Bronchos to the program’s sixth regular season crown with a conference record of 20-4. The hometown senior from Edmond, Okla., is a force on both sides of the field. She leads the Bronchos offense with a .414 batting average, a .862 slugging percentage, a .511 on-base percentage, 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 64 RBI. She also leads the Bronchos pitching staff with 15 wins, a 1.78 ERA, and 95 strikeouts in 117.2 innings pitched. The pitcher/first baseman also ranks second on the team with 176 outs on defense. Ritz leads the MIAA in doubles, home runs, RBI, OPS and slugging percentage while ranking in the league’s top ten in almost every other hitting category. Her ERA and opposing batting average (.226) also rank in the league’s top 10.

Missouri Southern’s Kiki Pickens was crowned the 2025 Picher of the Year after owning a league-low ERA of 1.60 and a league-best opposing batting average of .167. The second-year Lion from Beebe, Ark., finished the regular season with a record of 18-5 in the circle. In 144.2 innings of work, Pickens allowed just 87 hits, 33 earned runs and 39 walks while striking out 151 batters.

Central Oklahoma’s Rylee Lemos earned the 2025 Defensive Player of the Year title after an impressive junior season in the outfield, helping the Bronchos claim the regular season crown. An outfielder from South Coffeyville, Okla., Lemos started all 51 games in left field for the Bronchos. She made 37 outs in 37 chances for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on the season. Offensively, she ranks in the league’s top five in seven different hitting categories: batting average (.396), slugging percentage (.726), on-base percentage (.487), runs scored (61), hits (65), triples (6) and at-bats (164).

Bailey Dillon was named the Freshman of the Year after leading the Lions offense and ranking among the league’s top hitters throughout the 2025 season. The first year from Lenexa, Kan., leads Missouri Southern with a .420 batting average while starting all 52 games in left field. In 157 at-bats, Dillon has recorded 66 hits, 55 runs scored and 25 RBI. She also leads the Lions with 38 stolen bases this season – the second most in the league this season. Her batting average, on-base percentage (.505), runs scored, hits, triples and stolen bases all rank in the MIAA’s top five in each category.

The coaching staff of Central Oklahoma was awarded the MIAA Coaching Staff of the Year honor. The staff of Cody White (head coach), Jon Hunter (associate head coach), Jordan Dixon (assistant coach) and Jacee Minter (graduate assistant coach) led the Bronchos to regular season records of 43-8 overall and 20-4 in the MIAA. Central Oklahoma’s team batting average (.330) and team ERA (2.17) both rank second in the conference standings while their team fielding percentage (.981) leads the league.
