Bracket, Pairings Set For 2025 MIAA Softball Championship in Hays

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The bracket is set for the 2025 MIAA Softball Championship, hosted by Fort Hays State University April 30-May 3 in Hays, Kan. The top ten teams from the regular season advance to the league’s single-elimination postseason championship tournament, led by top-seeded Central Oklahoma.
 
The Bronchos of Central Oklahoma were crowned the 2025 MIAA regular season champions after going 20-4 against league opponents this season. The regular season title is the Bronchos’ sixth since joining the league in 2013 (2023, 2021, 2019, 2017, 2013). Central Oklahoma will be the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament and will take on the winner of No. 8 seed Emporia State (10-14) vs. No. 9 seed Fort Hays State (9-15).
 
Pittsburg State tabbed the No. 2 seed with a conference run of 18-6. The Gorillas will take on the winner of No. 7 seed Missouri Western (12-12) vs. No. 10 seed Nebraska Kearney (9-15).
 
Rogers State, the defending MIAA tournament champion, earned the No. 3 seed with a league record of 16-8. No. 4 seed Missouri Southern also ended the regular season with an MIAA record of 16-8. The Hillcats earned the higher seed over the Lions thanks to Rogers State’s sweep of Southern in the regular season. Rogers State will take on No. 6 seed Washburn (13-11) in the championship quarterfinals while the Lions will face No. 5 seed Central Missouri (14-10).
 
The first pitch of the 2025 MIAA Softball Championship is set for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at Fort Hays State’s Fleharty Family Field in Hays, Kan. Quarterfinal contests will take place on Thursday, May 1, followed by two semifinal games on Friday, May 2. The championship game is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.
