KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its weekly women's track and field athlete awards for the 2025 outdoor season. Sweeping Week Three honors was Pittsburg State's Diandrenique Gaines as track athlete of the week and Blakelee Winn as field athlete of the week.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Diandrenique Gaines, Pittsburg State
Setting top conference and top-10 national times this weekend, Diandrenique Gaines captured a pair of wins in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday. The senior posted the fifth best mark in Division en route to winning the 200 meter dash at 23.38 seconds and clocked 11.38 seconds in 100 meter dash for the sixth best mark in Division II. Gaines looks to return to the podium after a stellar outdoor national championship meet last season where she placed third in the 100 meter, fourth in the 200 meter and was a member of the Pitt State 4x100 meter relay team that came in runner-up.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Blakelee Winn, Pittsburg State
Blakelee Winn sits second in NCAA Division II standings after a 5,780 point performance in the women's heptathlon at the 2025 Bryan Clay Multi's last week. This total is a new personal best for the redshirt-junior as well as a new Gorilla all-time record. Winn's weekend also sought another national top mark in the long jump, as her distance of 6.34 meters (20-9.75 feet) also ranks second. Last season, the Pea Ridge, Ark., native came in second in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships and also joined Gaines as a member on the runner-up 4x100 meter relay team.
NOTABLE TRACK PERFORMANCES:
Tiffany Hughey, Northwest Missouri
Tiffany Hughey collected a set of NCAA provisional qualifying times as her silver medal 400 meter dash finish of 53.99 seconds at the Mule Relays gained her the seventh-best time in the national and top-mark in the MIAA. At last year's outdoor national championships Hughey won the event. She also added another medal, but in the shade of gold, as she won the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.96 seconds to sit third in the MIAA and No. 33 in Division II.
Emily Diercks, Fort Hays State
Winning the 5,000 meter run at the Wichita State KT Woodman Classic was Emily Diercks as she crossed the finish line with a national-qualifying and personal best time of 15:55.67. With her mark, she ranks third in the event in conference standings and adds her name to FHSU record books as the third fastest during the Tigers tenure as a Division II program.
NOTABLE FIELD PERFORMANCES:
Addison Throckmorton, Central Missouri
With a nation best heave of 51.25 meters (168-2 feet), Addison Throckmorton broke her own Central Missouri school record to win javelin at the Mule Relays on Friday. This mark is almost four feet longer than the nation's second best throw by Missouri Southern's Keliee Johnson on March 27 (50.12 meters/164-5 feet). The freshman is off an impressive start in her young career as she has won the event in both meets she's competed in. Her only other throw of the season at the Southwest Baptist Invitational of 50.09 meters (164-4 feet) would sit third in national standings.
Annabeth Baalmann, Fort Hays State
Leaping over the nation's third best and conference's top height of the season in pole vault was Annabeth Baalmann securing her third straight win in the event at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi. With a clearance of 4.20 meters (13-9.25 feet), the junior broke her own outdoor school record with her best height of the season.
Mackenzie Garr, Missouri Western
Adding a duo of top finishes in throws this weekend, Mackenzie Garr won shot put and came in second in discus at the Mules Relays. With a launch of 15.05 meters (49-4.5 feet) in shot put she now ranks second in the conference and fourth in the nation while her personal best toss of 49.47 meters (162-4 feet) in discus sits third in the MIAA and sixth in Division II.
