KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its preseason coaches poll for the 2025 men’s outdoor track and field season.
Pittsburg State, the reigning MIAA and NCAA Division indoor and outdoor champion, was selected as the unanimous favorite to finish at the top of the league by MIAA coaches. The Gorillas recently captured their second consecutive Indoor national title at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor National Champinoships. The Pitt men are also the defending NCAA Division II Outdoor National champion.
Northwest Missouri tabbed the No. 2 spot in the coaches' preseason rankings, followed by Washburn in third and Missouri Southern in fourth while Emporia State concluded the coaches' top five.

The outdoor season is officially underway with teams competing throughout the Midwest this weekend. The 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships are set for May 2-4 at Emporia State University's Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas.
