KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association is teaming up with 96.5 The Fan and Johnny’s Tavern in Kansas City’s Power & Light District to tip off the 2025 MIAA Basketball Championships.
MIAA MADNESS PEP RALLY

The 2025 MIAA Men's and Women's Basketball Championships, presented by Southern Bank, begin Wednesday, March 5, in Kansas City’s historic Municipal Auditorium. Just four blocks from the front doors of Municipal Auditorium is Johnny’s Tavern, the official sports bar of the MIAA.
Johnny’s and the MIAA will once again host the MIAA Pep Rally, presented by
96.5 The Fan, on opening day of the 2025 tournament. Following the men’s afternoon session and before the women’s evening session on March 5, MIAA fans are encouraged to visit downtown Kansas City’s best sports bar.
MIAA fans can bring their basketball ticket(s) for either session to Johnny's Tavern on March 5 to receive a
FREE beer and also enter to win a number of raffle prizes. The raffle will begin at approximately 5:15 p.m. Fans will have the chance to win conference swag, free items from Johnny’s Tavern, the Royals, and much more. Royals employees will be on hand to promote MIAA Night on April 26 alongside 96.5 The Fan, which will also have plenty of free items for fans to snag.
