Northwest Missouri Hosts 2025 Indoor Track & Field Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwest Missouri State University will host the 2025 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, February 28 - March 2, at the Bearcats’ Hughes Field House in Maryville, Mo.
 
All 11 women’s teams and 10 men’s teams will travel to Maryville, Mo., this weekend to compete in the 2025 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
 
The action begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 28, with multi-events and resumes on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. The championship’s first field events will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the first track events will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Championship Sunday (March 2) will begin with field events at noon, with track events scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start.
 
Spectators are encouraged to attend the 2025 Indoor Championships. Entry for spectators will be through only the upper East side doors of Hughes Fieldhouse. There will be an admission charge of $5 at the door (card only, no cash).

Pittsburg State is the men’s and the women’s reigning MIAA indoor and outdoor champion. The 2024 indoor title was the Gorilla women’s third straight title and eighth first-place finish in the past nine seasons. The Gorilla men have won the last four consecutive indoor titles. The Pitt State men are also the defending NCAA Division II indoor and outdoor national champions while the Gorilla women finished second at the 2024 indoor national championships but were crowned champions of the 2024 outdoor national championships.
 
There are currently four men’s teams and four women’s teams ranked in the Division II top 25. The Gorilla men continue to be the top-ranked team in Division II while Northwest Missouri ranks No. 6, Washburn No. 17 and Missouri Southern No. 23. Pitt State is also the league’s highest ranked women’s team coming in at No. 3, followed by the Lion women at No. 14, Washburn at No. 18 and Northwest Missouri at No. 25.
