2024-25 All-MIAA Wrestling Teams and Postseason Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its major postseason awards and All-MIAA teams for the 2024-25 wrestling season. Twenty-one student-athletes from all six MIAA wrestling institutions earned postseason honors, highlighted by two top-ranked individuals named MIAA Wrestlers of the Year.
 
Twenty student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 All-MIAA wrestling teams and three tabbed the league’s major postseason honors. Central Oklahoma’s 125-pounder Studd Morris and Nebraska Kearney’s heavyweight Crew Howard tied for the MIAA Wrestler of the Year title and Central Missouri’s Torin Forsyth was named Freshman of the Year. Head Coach of the Bronchos Todd Steidley was selected as the MIAA Coach of the Year by his peers.
 
Central Oklahoma captured the 2024-25 MIAA championship after going undefeated against league opponents. The Bronchos tabbed two major award winners and seven All-MIAA selections – five First Team, two Second Team. Nebraska Kearney, the 2024-25 runner-up, led with eight All-MIAA selections – four First Team, four Second Team. Central Missouri collected two All-MIAA selections. Fort Hays State, Newman and Ouachita each had one All-MIAA selection.   
 
The league’s Co-Wrestlers of the Year each rank No. 1 in Division II in their weight classes.
 
Studd Morris, the top-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds, leads No. 4-ranked Central Oklahoma with a record of 23-1 this season. The 5-foot senior from Yukon, Okla., has earned six victories by fall, two technical falls and five major decisions.
 
Crew Howard, the top-ranked wrestler at 285 pounds, finished the regular season a perfect 21-0. The 6-foot-4 redshirt junior from Clarinda, Iowa leads the No. 2-ranked Lopers in points scored with eight wins by fall, five tech falls, three major decisions and five decisions. Howard was also honored as the Mammoth “A Game” Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive season.
 
MIAA Freshman of the Year Torin Forsyth went 3-2 in MIAA duals with losses against the ranked Bronchos and Lopers. The Overland Park, Kan., native was previously ranked No. 14 in Division II at 285 pounds.
 
Bronchos head coach Todd Steidley led Central Oklahoma to its fifth straight MIAA championship and sixth overall since joining the league in 2012. The Bronchos enter the postseason as the No. 4 ranked team in Division II with eight individual-ranked wrestlers and an overall dual record of 13-1.
 
The complete 2024-25 All-MIAA Wrestling Teams are listed below. First Team selections are the league’s dual meet champions in each weight class; the Second Team selections are the dual meet runners-up.
 
MIAA teams will next compete in NCAA Division II Postseason Tournaments hosted this Saturday, March 1. Central Missouri will welcome nine teams – including Central Oklahoma, Newman and Ouachita – to Warrensburg to host the Super Region IV Championship. Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney join 10 other teams at the Super Region VI Championship hosted by Western Colorado University in Gunnison, Colo.
