KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association is excited to announce the hiring of two interns joining the conference office staff in the new year. Hannah Johnson and Jordyn Bredenberg will officially begin their MIAA internships in January 2026.

Both interns will work closely with the MIAA staff on various in-office tasks and assist the conference in the preparation and execution of the Association’s nine remaining championships in the 2025-26 academic year.

Hannah Johnson is currently a junior at the University of Kansas pursuing double bachelor’s degrees in marketing and sports management. She also works as a tutor in the university’s student-athlete support services. As a tutor, she teaches learning strategies and supplemental instruction concepts to student-athletes. Johnson's also responsible for reporting student-athletes’ progress by completing weekly academic update reports, ensuring proper class progression while adhering to all NCAA academic rules and regulations.

Johnson previously worked as a scouting and recruiting intern with the Jayhawks football team, working closely with the Kansas football coaching staff to organize high school visits and travel and assists in finding and evaluating potential prospects. She also helped create recruiting game day materials for KU coaches and staff and ensures official visits run smoothly.

Jordyn Bredenberg is a former MIAA student-athlete at Fort Hays State University. She graduated this December with a bachelor's degree in informatics, a minor in Spanish, and earned a certificate in graphic design. Brendenberg was a four-year student-athlete on the Tigers’ women’s soccer team and a four-time member on the MIAA’s Academic Honor Roll.

Bredenberg worked within the Fort Hays State athletics department as a graphic designer and photographer, working closely with the football and soccer programs. She captured and edited high-quality images for the Tigers programs to use on social media, as well as recruiting and marketing materials. Bredenberg spent this past summer as the social media manager for the St. Cloud Rox – a premier collegiate summer baseball team based in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

“We were fortunate to have a ton of well-qualified applicants apply for our 2026 spring internship program,” said MIAA Associate Commissioner Brenna Winn. “Hannah and Jordyn are both extremely organized and sophisticated young professionals, and we’re thrilled to have them join our team this spring!”

Johnson and Bredenberg will be with the conference office staff in Kansas City until the conclusion of the academic year in June.
