MIAA Announces 2025 All-MIAA Football Teams and Postseason Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its All-MIAA teams and major postseason award winners from the 2025 football season. One hundred and 30 NCAA Division II football student-athletes earned All-MIAA honors, highlighted by the seven players who earned the league’s major postseason awards.
 
MIAA co-champions Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State led the league’s postseason honors. A total of 23 Bearcats received All-MIAA honors, highlighted by Clayton Power being named the Defensive Lineman of the Year, Zechariah Owens being named the Co-Freshman of the Year, and first-year Head Coach John McMenamin being honored as the Coach of the Year by his peers. The Gorillas received 19 All-MIAA honors, led by the MIAA Player of the Year, Jackson Berry, and the Special Teams Player of the Year, Austin Schmitt.
 
Central Oklahoma’s 16 All-MIAA honors were highlighted by Montriel Lee being named the Offensive Lineman of the Year for the second consecutive season. Fort Hays State received 14 postseason honors and Emporia State collected 13, highlighted by Landon Boss, the Defensive Player of the Year.
 
Central Missouri had 11 players earn All-MIAA honors and earned the final major postseason award with quarterback Donovyn Omolo honored as the additional Co-Freshman of the Year. Nebraska Kearney and Washburn each received 10 All-MIAA honorees. Missouri Southern and Missouri Western both earned seven honors apiece.

Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State both advanced to the NCAA Division II postseason, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday, November 16. Pittsburg State earned the No. 4 seed and hosting privileges. The Gorillas (9-2) will face Chadron State (8-3) in Pittsburg, Kan., while the Bearcats (9-2) travel to Searcy, Ark., to take on top-seeded Harding (11-0) on Saturday, November 22.
