Missouri Southern’s Dmitri Lloyd Named MIAA Football’s “A Game” Scholar-Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –  Among the 10 teams in the MIAA and hundreds of NCAA Division II student-athletes, Dmitri Lloyd of Missouri Southern State University was selected as the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete of the 2025 MIAA football season.

Established by the MIAA in 2022, “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award presented by Athletic Solutions acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team’s success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

Lloyd is a senior tight end from Fort Smith, Arkansas, on the Lions football team. He has an impressive 4.0 grade point average as a communications major with 95 credits completed. On the field, he’s had five receptions for 69 yards (13.8 yards per catch) for the Lions offense this season.

Lloyd is the first Missouri Southern football player to earn the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete title and only the third Lion honored in the award’s history. To view past “A Game” Scholar-Athlete award winners and find more information about the award, visit theMIAA.com/scholar-athletes.

The MIAA will present Lloyd with the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete award before kickoff of Missouri Southern’s final game of the season on Saturday, November 15. The Lions host Washburn at 1 p.m. in Joplin, Missouri. MIAA fans can watch the action live on The MIAA Network.
