KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Nathan Hinrichs of Pittsburg State University was named the Athletic Solutions “A Game” Scholar-Athlete of the 2025 MIAA Men’s Cross Country Championship.

All 12 MIAA men’s cross country teams were in Pittsburg, Kansas, on Saturday, October 25, for the 2025 MIAA Cross Country Championships, hosted by Pittsburg State University at the Four Oaks Golf Course. Among the 100-plus NCAA Division II student-athletes competing in the championship, Pittsburg State’s Nathan Hinrichs was named the championship’s “A Game” Scholar-Athlete, presented by Athletic Solutions. 

Established by the MIAA in 2022, the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team’s success while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.

Hinrichs is a redshirt junior from New Bloomfield, Mo., on the Gorillas cross country team. He’s currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and boasts a perfect 4.0 grade point average with 103 credits completed.

Also a member of the Pitt State track and field team, Hinrichs was previously named the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete of the 2025 MIAA Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship last March. He is the sixth Gorilla to earn the “A Game” Scholar-Athlete honor and the first to claim the title at two separate championships.
