KANSAS CITY, MO – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced a new Wrestler of the Week from the 2024-25 season. Central Oklahoma’s Studd Morris was crowned the MIAA Wrestler of the Week in Week Seven.
MIAA WRESTLER OF THE WEEK: Studd Morris, Central Oklahoma (125 lbs.)
Studd Morris has been named the MIAA Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season after going undefeated (4-0) with wins over three ranked opponents while leading Central Oklahoma to a runner-up finish in the 2025 NWCA Division II National Duals. The senior 125-pounder opened with an 11-1 major decision in a win over Mary, had a 9-0 major decision over No. 11-ranked Shane Corrigan in a win over Wisconsin-Parkside, knocked off Nebraska Kearney’s top-ranked Zach Ourada 5-4 in a semifinal win over the Lopers, and finally, beat the No. 15-ranked Conor Knopick 4-1 in a finals loss to St. Cloud State. Morris is now leading the No. 4 Bronchos with an individual record of 17-1 this season.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
Jacari Deal, Nebraska Kearney (184 lbs.)
Jacari Deal is aiming to replace twin brother Jacobi Deal as Nebraska Kearney’s starter at 184 pounds after helping the Lopers to a third-place finish at the 2025 NWCA National Duals. Jacari started his season off on the right foot by going 3-0 in the duals, upsetting nationally ranked Cade Mueller of Augustana, 4-1, and Garret Wells of Central Oklahoma, 5-1. His other victory was a 15-7 major decision in the third-place dual against McKendree.
Connor Padgett, Fort Hays State (174 lbs.)
Connor Padgett finished as the runner-up in the 174-pound bracket at the Hastings Open, finishing 3-1 on the day. The redshirt freshman made quick work of his first two opponents, recording a pin in 42 seconds in the opening round before racking up a 19-4 technical fall in the quarterfinals. Padgett then picked up a 4-2 decision against a Division I opponent from the University of Nebraska to reach the finals.
