KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its second Men’s Golfer of the Week from the 2024 fall season. Seven MIAA teams competed in Northeastern State University’s Men’s Classic earlier this week. Two MIAA golfers tied for the individual title to claim Co-Golfer of the Week honors.
CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Will Livermore, Northeastern State
Will Livermore shot a career-low 204 (-9) in three rounds at the 26th NSU Men's Golf Classic to tie for the individual title. The sophomore is the first Northeastern State men's golfer since 2009 to claim a medalist championship at their home event. Competing as an individual, Livermore landed 14 birdies and had three consecutive under-par rounds at the Muskogee Golf Club. There was an attempt at a tiebreaker with Arkansas-Fort Smith’s Jeremy Tandoy but after five sudden-death holes, the competition was concluded due to darkness.
CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK: Jeremy Tandoy, Arkansas-Fort Smith
Jeremy Tandoy tied for individual medalist honors at the NSU Men’s Classic after 54 holes, plus five playoff holes. The senior finished with a 204 (-9), recording rounds of 69-68-67. He carded 12 birdies and eagled the par-5 fifth hole twice. Tandoy became the second consecutive individual medalist winner for the Lions at the NSU Invitational, as teammate Chandler Cooke won the event last year.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Jeffery Johnston, Missouri Western
Jeffery Johnston was the only other MIAA competitor to place in the top ten at the NSU Men’s Classic. After shooting rounds of 70 (-1) and 71, Johnston saved his best for last, shooting a 68 (-3) in his final round. He opened his final round with a birdie on his first hole, then eagled the fifth before birdying twice more on holes 7 and 15. His three-round score settled at 209 (-4) as he finished in a tie for seventh.
