KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The seeds and pairings are set for the 2024 MIAA Softball Championship tournament, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma May 1-4 in Edmond, Okla.
 
The top ten teams from the 2024 MIAA regular season advance to the Association’s postseason championship for a four-day, nine-game, single-elimination tournament. The first pitch is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1 at Central Oklahoma’s Gerry Pinkston Stadium.
 
Pittsburg State and Rogers State were crowned MIAA Co-Champions. Both the Gorillas and Hillcats swept their final MIAA opponents to finish at the top of the league with conference records of 23-3. Rogers State claimed the No. 1 seed over Pitt State with a 2-1, 5-4 doubleheader sweep of the Gorillas in the regular season. With the top two seeds in the 2024 tournament, the Hillcats and Gorillas earn a first-round bye and will play the winners of the opening-round matchups.
 
No. 8 seed Central Missouri (12-14) and No. 9 seed Missouri Southern (12-14) will open the 2024 championship at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. No. 7 seed Missouri Western (13-13) will then take on No. 10 seed Fort Hays State (10-16) at 5:30 p.m. to conclude the opening-round matchups.
 
Thursday will feature four quarterfinal contests beginning with the top-seeded Hillcats taking on the winner of Jennies versus Lions at 11 a.m. Washburn (17-8) is the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seeded Northwest Missouri (15-11) at 1:30 p.m. Central Oklahoma, the defending MIAA regular season champions and MIAA tournament champions, tabbed the No. 3 seed with the home-field advantage. The Bronchos (21-5) will take on No. 6 seed Emporia State (13-12) at 4 p.m. Pitt State will play the winner of Griffons versus Tigers in Thursday’s final quarterfinal game set for 6:30 p.m.
 
The semifinal games are scheduled for noon and 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, with the championship matchup set for noon on Saturday, May 4.
