KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma’s Shawn Streck has been crowned the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association’s Most Dominant Wrestler of the 2023-24 season.
Shawn Streck has been honored as the MIAA’s Most Dominant Wrestler for the second consecutive season. The now two-time NCAA Division II heavyweight national champion led the MIAA with an average of 4.2 points per match.
A senior from Merrillville, Ind., Streck finished the season with an overall record of 19-1. He led the Bronchos with 11 tech fall victories and added five major decision wins and one win by fall. Streck was also named the All-MIAA First Team heavyweight this season with a league record of 3-0.
Streck entered the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championship as the No. 3 seed in the 285-pound bracket. He defeated the No. 1 seed in the championship match to claim his second straight national heavyweight title and help the Bronchos clinch back-to-back national team titles.
Central Oklahoma now leads all Division II institutions with nine wrestling national championships.
