WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The 2024 MIAA women’s soccer season officially concluded on Sunday, December 1, with the Central Missouri Jennies falling to the No. 7-ranked Minnesota State Mavericks in double overtime of the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championship match.
Four MIAA women’s soccer teams advanced to the 2024 NCAA Division II postseason and competed in the first and second rounds of the Central Region tournament, hosted November 22-24. The Jennies were awarded the top seed in the Central Region and hosted No. 4 seed Central Oklahoma, No. 5 seed Washburn and No. 8 seed Ouachita (GAC). Minnesota State (NSIC) was selected as the No. 2 seed and hosted No. 3 seed Missouri Western, No. 6 seed Concordia-St. Paul (NSIC) and No. 7 seed St. Cloud State (NSIC).
Central Missouri was the only MIAA team to advance to the regional championship match, which the Jennies hosted at the UCM South Recreation Complex on December 1.
Central Missouri suffered a 1-0 loss to Minnesota State in double-overtime of the Central Region title match. With the victory, the Mavericks will advance and represent the Central Region in the NCAA Division II National Quarterfinals, scheduled for Sunday, December 7.
