2024 MIAA Baseball Preseason Poll Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its preseason coaches poll for the 2024 baseball season.
 
Defending MIAA champion Central Missouri topped the 2024 MIAA baseball preseason coaches poll with 120 points and the majority first place votes. The Mules finished the 2023 season with a league record of 27-6 and went 43-14 overall.
 
Central Missouri has captured the Association’s regular season title the past four consecutive seasons and has won five straight MIAA postseason tournament titles.
 
Missouri Southern was picked to finish second by MIAA coaches in the 2024 season with 105 points and one first place selection. The Lions were the 2023 regular season runners-up with a MIAA record of 25-8 while owning a 45-17 overall record.
 
Just two points behind the Lions was Pittsburg State in the No. 3 spot with 105 points and the remaining first place vote. The Gorillas finished in a tie for third last season with a league record of 21-12 and 33-20 overall.
 
Washburn finished No. 4 in the poll with 89 points with Central Oklahoma close behind in the No. 5 spot with 88 points.
 
Northeastern State was slatted sixth with 61 points, followed by Rogers State at No. 7 with 56 points and Emporia State at No. 8 with 44 points. Newman and Missouri Western each tied for ninth with 41 points apiece. Fort Hays State was picked No. 11 with 28 points and Northwest Missouri concluded the coaches poll in the No. 12 spot with 16 points.
