KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for the 11th week of the 2023 season.
 
MIAA Hitter of the Week – Callie Yellin – Rogers State
Callie Yellin lead the Hillcats offense over the week hitting .500 (5-for-10) with three home runs, 8 RBI and three runs scored. In a 15-5 win over Newman, Yellin was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate as she finished just a three-run shot away from the home run cycle, driving in eight runs in the process. With that performance, she broke the Hillcats’ single game records for home runs and RBI.
 
MIAA Pitcher of the Week – Jordyn Pipkin – Central Oklahoma  
Jordyn Pipkin had a dominating weekend as the Bronchos went 3-1 in four league road games. The sophomore right-hander went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA while throwing two complete games. She gave up five hits and one run in 12 innings while walking three and striking out five as opponents batted just .128. Pipkin tossed a four-hitter in a 9-0 five-inning rout of Northeastern State and came back the next day to throw another four-hitter in a 4-1 win over No. 8-ranked Rogers State.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Hitters
Ari Cordova – Emporia State
In five games for the Hornets last week, Ari Cordova hit .647 with a 1.726 OPS while totaling five doubles and seven RBI. She was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored and reached on base all three time in Emporia State’s 4-2 win over Rockhurst in non-conference action. With the score tied, two outs and two on in the fifth inning she laid down a bunt and her speed forced the catcher to hurry her throw and it went into right field, allowing two runs to score. She went also 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in game one against Pittsburg State. She then went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and a run scored in ESU’s 13-8 win in game two. She gave the Hornets a two-run lead with a two out double and finished 2-fo-4 with two RBI and a run scored in ESU’s 6-5 win over MSSU in game one. She ended the week going 2-for-3 with a triple in the final game at Missouri Southern.
 
Abbey Fischer – Central Missouri
Abbey Fischer helped the Jennies to a perfect 4-0 weekend going 7-for-14 (.500) at the plate. The redshirt senior totaled eight runs scored and had extra-base hits, including a pair of homeruns in the 6-4 win over Fort Hays State.
 
Pitchers
Jordan Galliher – Lincoln
Jordan Galliher went 2-0 in the circle this week, allowing just three hits in 13.1 innings of work. Galliher struck out seven batters and gave up only one run in Lincoln’s victory over Nebraska Kearney. In the Blue TIgers win over Quincy, Galliher issued only one walk and allowed just two runs. She pitched 11.1 shutout innings in the week.
 
Kelly Hipsher – Emporia State
Kelly Hipsher made her first appearances in two weeks and went 2-0 with a 2.74 ERA for the Hornets last week. She got two outs to end the third inning of Emporia State’s loss to Pitt State in game one, then pitched 3.2 innings in relief during the Hornets’ 13-8 win in game two. Hipsher came on in relief again in ESU’s 6-5 win over MSSU to secure the win victory with 3.1 innings pitched.
