KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA has announced an update of its 2022-23 men's golf standings. Northeastern State now leads the league after three MIAA designated events.
Following the third MIAA designated event, the RiverHawks now lead the season standings with a team score of 26 points. Northeastern State has placed among the top-three MIAA teams in each of the league's designated events this season, which include runner-up finishes at the Newman designated event in the fall and Central Oklahoma's designated event earlier this week – the first of the spring season.Â
Washburn is currently in second in the team standings just half a point behind NSU with 25.5 points. Washburn also also placed among the Association's top-three in each event. The Ichabods captured the title at the first designated event of the season with a first place finish at NSU's designated event.Â
Missouri Southern led the standings through the 2022 fall season, and now sit in their with 25 points, just .5 behind the Ichabods. The Lions won the Newman designated event, placed second at the NSU event and fifth at the UCO event.Â
Individually, Northeastern State's Christian Yanovitch leads all MIAA golfers through three designated events with 30.5 points. Yanovitch has finished in the MIAA's top-10 at all three events this season, highlighted by his most recent, runner-up finish in the UCO designated event.Â
Central Oklahoma's Bennett Baldwin has captured back-to-back title at MIAA designated events to sit in second in the individual standings with 30 points. Washburn's Cade Uhlenhake is in third with 28.5 points, NSU's Carlos Gomez is currently in fourth 28 points, and MSSU's Tradgon McCrae rounds out the top-five with 25.5 points.Â

The final designated event will be the 2023 MIAA Men's Golf Championships, hosted April 17-19 at the Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, Missouri.Â
