2023-24 Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll Announced

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its preseason coaches poll for the 2023-24 men’s indoor track and field season.   
 
The defending NCAA Division II indoor track and field national champion Pittsburg State was unanimously picked to finish at the top of the league once again. The Gorillas totaled 100 points and received all their MIAA opponents first-place votes.  
 
Pitt State was crowned the 2023 MIAA Indoor Championship champions with a record-breaking 208.5 team points. The leagaue title was Pitt State's third straight indoor championship victory. The Gorillas went on to capture the 2023 NCAA Division II National Indoor Track and Field title – their first of two national titles in the 2022-23 season.
 
Missouri Southern was tabbed second in the preseason coaches poll with 90 points, followed by Nebraska Kearney in third with 78 points. Places fourth, fifth and sixth in the poll differed by just two points apiece. Central Missouri was picked No. 4 with 67 points, Northwest Missouri No. 5 with 65 points, and Fort Hays State at No. 6 with 63 points.
 
Washburn totaled 45 points in the preseason poll with the No. 7 spot, followed by Lincoln in eighth and Missouri Western in ninth. Emporia State and Rogers State concluded the poll in 10th and 11th, respectfully.
