KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association has announced its second women’s Golfer of the Week of the 2023 Fall Season. Seven MIAA teams hit the links on three different courses earlier this week, highlighted by the Jennies dominate victory at the Grace Shin Invitational.
MIAA Golfer of the Week – Mia Rallo, Central Missouri
Mia Rallo has been named the MIAA Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive time this fall. Rallo led the Jennies golf team to a dominate first-place victory at Central Oklahoma’s Grace Shin Invitational. Rallo took home the individual title and set an individual program 36-hole record with a final score of -2, 140. The sophomore totaled nine birdies in the tournament with five on her final round. The victory also put Rallo in the UCM record book for most wins in a single season (2) and most career wins (3).
Rallo’s teammates Hayley Jones and Nicole Rallo followed closely behind, tying for second at -1, 141. The Jennies shot a combined team score of -4, 564, winning the tournament by 29-strokes and setting a new 36-hole program record.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Lydia Sitorus – Rogers State
Lydia Sitorus led the Hillcats to a runner-up finish at the Golfweek DII Fall Invitational. She finished in a tie for second after shooting +1, 214 for the tournament, five strokes behind the leader. In the final round, RSU shot 280 as a team to set the new team low round record, besting the 281 the Hillcats shot in the first round of the 2021 Tulsa Cup.
Alyssa McMillen – Missouri Western
Matching the highest placing of her career, Alyssa McMillen took fourth at the Grace Shin Invitational at the Golf Club of Edmond. The sophomore shot even, tallying her own total of 142, two strokes shy of a tie for first place. Her round-two total of 67 was a career low, leading McMillen to her best finish since she tied for fourth at the MWSU Holiday Inn Express Classic last spring
