2022-23 MIAA Women's Golfers of the Week: Week 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its second women’s golfer of the week for the 2022 season. 
 
MIAA Golfer of the Week – Julie Hofmanova – Missouri Western  
Julie Hofmanova claimed her first-ever individual and helped the Griffons to a fifth-place team finished at the Northeastern State Invitational earlier this week. The junior shot a first-round score of 75 on Monday before shaving six strokes off her second-round total with a score of 69 on Tuesday for a 36-hole total of +3, 144.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
Lydia Sitorus – Rogers State
Lydia Sitorus led the Hillcats to a third-place finish at the Northeastern State Golf Classic to open the 2022-23 season. The sophomore finished in a four-way tie for fourth place after shooting a six over par 146 (73, 73) over the two rounds.
 
Claire Solovic – Central Missouri
Claire Solovic helped the Jennies to a sixth-place finish at the UIndy Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. The junior finished in a tie for 11th individually, shooting a 76 (+4) in round one, 69 (-3) through round two and 77 (+5) for a 54-hole total of +6, 222.
 
Morgan Brasser – Fort Hays State
Morgan Brasser finished sixth out of 89 golfers at the Swan Memorial Invitational with a three-round total of +9, 225. She sat in a tie for first place after back-to-back rounds of +1, 73 on Monday before finishing the event with a +7, 79 in the final round on Tuesday. She led the field with 37 pars across the 54 holes while recording five birdies on the week. Brasser led the Tigers to a team score of 310 in round two, the fourth-lowest round in program history.
