KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four teams advance to the final rounds of the 2022 MIAA Baseball Championship, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla.
Top-seeded Central Missouri, No. 2 seed Northeastern State, No. 3 seed Pittsburg State and No. 5 seed Washburn each won the best-of-three series on campus sites to advance to Edmond, Okla. for the final rounds of the MIAA Baseball Championship.
The Mules hosted Emporia State this past weekend, beating the No. 8 seed Hornets in two games, 2-1 and 15-5. Northeastern State and Washburn also earned two-game sweeps as the RiverHawks beat No. 7 seed Rogers State 10-4 and 5-2 in Tahlequah while the Ichabods took down the No. 4 seed Bronchos 7-5 and 6-2 in Edmond.
The remaining rounds of the post-season tournament will be played on a double-elimination bracket with games beginning Thursday, May 12 at noon and 4 p.m. on Central Oklahoma’s
Wendell Simmons Field.
Central Missouri will take on Washburn in the first game with a battle between Northeastern State and Pittsburg State to follow. The championship game is set for Saturday, May 14 at noon.
All games will be streamed live on the MIAA Network.
