KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma and Washburn both advance to the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis National Championship.
Central Oklahoma and Washburn will join 14 other Division II teams at the Women's Tennis Sweet 16 in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Central Oklahoma was crowned champions of Central Regional No. 1, hosted at Edmond Center Court in Edmond, Okla.
The Bronchos were tabbed the top seed in the Central Region to receive a first-round bye. In the Central Regional No. 1 finale, UCO defeated MIAA foe and No. 5 seed in the regional Missouri Western 4-1 to punch its ticket to the Division II National Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.

Washburn won the Central Regional No. 2 at the Huether Tennis Centre in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Ichabods were the final team selected into the Central Region as the No. 6 seed. Washburn was paired against No. 3 seed Southeastern Oklahoma State in its first matchup of the tournament and defeated the Savage Storm in an easy 4-0 match to advance to the regional finale. The Ichabods took down No. 2 seed Augustana 4-3 in the Central Regional No. 2 title match. This will be Washburn’s first trip to the national stage since 2004.

Central Oklahoma and Washburn will travel to Altamonte Springs, Fla. to compete in the 2022 NCAA Division II National Tennis Championships. The action begins Tuesday, May 17 at Sanlando Park.
