EDMOND, Okla. – Ouachita Baptist defeated Southern Arkansas in the championship match of the 2022 MIAA/GAC Men's Tennis Championship played at
Edmond Center Court. It is the Tigers first MIAA/GAC Title and first conference championship victory since 2015.
Ouachita Baptist ented the championship as a No. 1 seed from the South Division. After a first-round bye, OBU defeated No. 3 seed Harding 4-0 to advance to the title match against No. 2 seed Southern Arkasnas.
Southern Arkansas made it to the championship match after beating a pair of North Division teams. The Mulerides downed No. 3 seed Newman 4-0 in their quarterfinal match, then upset the defending MIAA/GAC Championship, No. 1 seed Northwet Missouri 4-2.
In the final match, OBU jumped to a quick lead after victories at No.1 and No.3 doubles. The Tigers then went on to secure wins at No.1, 2 and 3 singles positions. To see the final results form the MIAA/GAC Championship Match,

With the victory, OBU clinches the Association's automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Championship, scheduled to begin Friday, May 6, back at Edmond Center Court in Edmond, Okla.
