Bracket And Pairings Set For 2022 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eight MIAA women’s tennis teams are ready to face off in the 2022 Tennis Championship, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma.
 
The championship stage is set for Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 at the at the Emond Center Court in Edmond, Okla. with the title match beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
 
Central Oklahoma clinched the No. 1 seed in the tournament with a regular season finale win over Washburn to post a flawless 8-0 record in the league. The Ichabods will be the No. 2 seed with a 7-1 MIAA record.
 
Missouri Western tabbed the No. 3 seed with a victory over Nebraska Kearney in its final league contest while Northwest Missouri defeated Northeastern State in its to claim the No. 4 seed. The Griffons went 6-2 against MIAA opponents while the Bearcats finished 5-3.
 
The Lopers will be the No. 5 seed with a MIAA record of 4-4, Newman is the No. 6 seed with a 3-5 finish and Emporia State tabbed the No. 8 seed with a record of 2-6. Northeastern State clinched the final ticket to the championship.
 
The tournament’s champion will become an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Central Region Championship on May 6-7.
