INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Rogers State was crowned the MIAA Regular Season Champion after taking home the title at the 2022 MIAA Men’s Golf Championship at the WinterStone Golf Course.

Rogers State carded a 54-hole team total of +11, 875 [292-288-295], 16 strokes ahead of the championship’s runners-up, Central Missouri. The Hillcats led the field through day one of the tournament with +4 in round one and finished even in round two. Roger State’s 288 in the second round was the championship’s lowest round.

This is the Hillcats first MIAA title since joining the Association in 2019. With the victory, RSU automatically qualifies for the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Region Championship.

The Mules finished second with a three-round score of +27, 891 [303-295-293]. Central Missouri led all teams in through the round of the championship with a team total of +5, 293. Just two strokes behind the Mules in third was Missouri Southern at +29, 893 [295-294-304].
Central Missouri's Matt Hoemann earned his first MIAA individual crown after posting a three round -3, 213 [73-71-69],
four strokes ahead of the runner-up. Hoemann’s final round of 69 was the lowest round of the tournament.

Rogers State’s Aidan Gavey placed second at the championship with a 54-hole total of +1, 217 [71-72-74]. Gavey was the first of three Hillcats to place in the top-five. Rogers State’s Daniel Robles placed third carding +2, 218 [73-72-73] while teammate Luke Palmowski was fourth with a three-round score of +3, 219. Central Oklahoma’s Caleb Kimmel [70-73-77] and Missouri Southern’s Connor Williamson [74-74-72] finished in a tie for fifth at +4, 220.

The 2022 championship completed the MIAA’s 2021-22 designated standings. Rogers State claimed the regular season title with a total of 48.5 points this season. The Hillcats won three of the Association’s four designated events and finished in a tie for second in the other. Below is a complete list of the final MIAA standings.

Rogers State's Luke Palmowski was named the MIAA Golfer of the Year, finishing atop the standings with 47.5 points. Palmowski placed in the top-five in three of the four designated events and finished in the top-10 in all of them. Rogers State’s Daniel Robles earned the MIAA Freshman of the Year honor as the top placer among first year competitors. Robles placed in the top-10 in all three designated event he competed in to total 31.5 points on the season.
