2021-2022 MIAA Commissioner's Cup Update

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association released updated standings of its 2021-2022 MIAA Commissioner’s Cup, presented by McCownGordon Construction.
 
Through the completion of the 2021-22 fall and winter sport seasons, Northwest Missouri continues to lead the MIAA with 105.5 points followed by Central Missouri with 104.5 points. Fort Hays State is in third with 98 points followed by Nebraska Kearney in fourth with 97 points while Pittsburg State rounds out the current top-five with 86 points. 
 
The Bearcats were crowned the 2022 MIAA Men's Basketball Co-Champions with Central Oklahoma. The Bearcats finished conference competition with an 18-4 record. Northwest women's basketball finished the regular-season in a tie for sixth. The Northwest women’s indoor track and field team finished second at the 2022 MIAA Indoor Championships while the Bearcat men’s indoor track and field team placed sixth at the championships. 
 
Central Missouri's track and field teams helped hold the Mules and Jennies in second-place of the 2021-22 Commissioner's Cup Standings as each team finished fourth at the 2022 MIAA Indoor Championships. Jennies basketball also finished fourth in the league while Mules basketball ended the season in a tie for seventh. The Mules wrestling team finished third in the MIAA.

Fort Hays State's winter teams moved the Tigers up three spots in the standings. Fort Hays State's basketball teams highlighted the Tigers winter seasons as the women's squad clinched a share of the regular-season title with Missouri Southern and the men finished third in the MIAA. The Tigers men's and women's indoor track and field teams each placed fifth at the 2022 MIAA Indoor Championships while the FHSU wrestling team added points with a fourth-place finish in the league. 
 
Although the Loper Wrestling team was crowned 2022 NCAA Division II National championships the squad finished second in the MIAA. Nebraska Kearney also tabbed a runner-up finish at the men's indoor track and field championships while the women's team finished seventh overall. The Loper women highlighted UNK's basketball season with a third-place finish in the league. 

Pittsburg State claimed both men's and women's 2022 Indoor Track and Field MIAA titles to keep the Gorillas towards the top of the Commissioner's Cup Standings.

The standings are based on points earned from the regular season finish in each of the sports recognized by the MIAA divided by the number of those sports sponsored by each respective member institution.
