Bracket, Pairings Set For 2022 MIAA Men’s Basketball Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA announced its men’s bracket and pairings for the 2022 MIAA Basketball Championships presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. Opening round games for the men tip-off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Central Oklahoma (18-4) earned the tournament’s top seed after clinching a share of the regular season championship for the first time since joining the MIAA in 2012. The Bronchos will play the winner of No.8 Central Missouri (10-12) and No.9 Northeastern State (9-12). The Mules and RiverHawks will play the first men’s game of the tournament on Wednesday, March 2 at 6 p.m.

The Bronchos share the 2022 title with defending regular season champions, Northwest Missouri (18-4). It was Northwest's ninth consecutive regular season title and 21st overall. The Bearcats will take on the winner of No.7 Missouri Western (10-12) and No.10 Rogers State (9-13). The Griffons and Hillcats tip-off on Wednesday, March 2 at 8:15 p.m. with the winner facing Northwest on Thursday, March 3 at 8:15 p.m.
 
The third seed went to Fort Hays State (17-5) who will play sixth-seed Missouri Southern (11-11) on Friday, March 4 at 8:15 p.m. Washburn (16-6) claimed the fourth-seed and will take on fifth-seed Emporia State (15-7) at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 4.
