KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwest Missouri and Pittsburg State dominated their opponents in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Playoffs to advance to the second round of the Division II Football Championship.
Northwest Missouri and Pitt State will travel to Michigan this Saturday, November 26, to take on a pair of elite football programs out of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The No. 8-ranked Bearcats (10-2) will face top-ranked Grand Valley State (11-0) in the Lakers’ Lubbers Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. (CST) in Allendale, Michigan. Northwest enters the contest riding a six-game win streak while Grand Valley is one of four unbeaten teams at the Division II II level.

The No. 4-ranked Gorillas (12-0) travel to Big Rapids, Michigan on Saturday to take on No. 5 Ferris State (10-1). Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. (CST) at the Bulldogs’ Top Taggart Field. Pitt State enters the contests as one of four undefeated teams in Division II. The Gorillas defense didn’t allow a single point in their first round matchup, defeating Indianapolis 35-0.
