KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Two MIAA Women’s Soccer teams advanced to the second round of the 2022 NCAA Division II Central Region Championship.

Top-seeded Central Missouri (19-1-2) dominated Southwestern Oklahoma State with a 5-0 shutout in Warrensburg, Missouri. Fourth-seeded Emporia State (12-6-4) defeated fellow MIAA member Fort Hays State (11-3-7) 5-1 in Warrensburg. The Jennies and Hornets will square off on Sunday, November 13 at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg. The winner advances to the highest remaining seed in the Central Region for the regional championship match on November 17 or 18.

UCM powered past SWOSU with two different Jennies scoring two goals apiece. The Jennies wasted little time in pulling away from the Bulldogs with three goals in a four minute stretch starting at the 32nd minute mark. Defensively, UCM allowed just six shots on goal to record its 10th shutout of the season.

ESU moved on to the second-round behind a historic performance from Mackenize DiMarco. DiMarco tallied nine points and four goals in the victory. The nine points broke an NCAA tournament single-match record and the four goals tied an NCAA tournament single-match record. On the defensive side of the field, the Hornets limited FHSU to just four shots on goals.

Northwest Missouri (13-6-2) and Central Oklahoma (11-5-4) also represented the Association in the Central Region Championship in a snowy Bemidji, Minnesota. The Bearcats fell in a heartbreaker to Minnesota State. NW netted a goal in the 35th minute then pushed the third-seeded Mavericks to penalty kicks. In PKs, MSU prevailed 4-1. Despite outshooting and holding a one shot on goal edge, UCO dropped its match 3-0 to second-seeded Bemidji State.
