KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA released its 2021-2022 Women’s Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches Poll. Central Missouri, the reigning MIAA Indoor Champions, was picked first in the preseason poll.
The Jennies claimed the top spot with eight first-place votes and 115 total points. Central Missouri won the Association’s 2021 Indoor Championships. It was the Jennies first indoor conference title since 2015.
Pittsburg State was picked second in the poll with 109 points and the remaining four first-place votes. Two points behind the Gorillas was Missouri Southern in third with 107 points. Lincoln was selected fourth with 86 points while Northwest Missouri rounded out the top five with 85 votes.
Fort Hays State finished sixth in the preseason poll with 72 points while Nebraska Kearney was seventh with 62 points and Washburn was eighth with 50 points. Missouri Western occupied the ninth spot, followed by Emporia State, Central Oklahoma and Rogers State.
The 2022 MIAA Indoor Championships will be held February 25-27, hosted by Northwest Missouri in Maryville.
