KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The MIAA has partnered with Launch Esports to offer students at MIAA institutions a chance to win an inaugural Esports Tournament. This event is free for all MIAA students with a valid student email address.

Tournament registration begins at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, and runs through 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26. The single elimination tournament begins at 6 p.m. on October 27.

“The MIAA is excited to explore the world of Esports on MIAA member campuses by partnering with Launch Esports, and launching the first MIAA Esports Tournament later this month," said MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy. "The MIAA encourages all students to participate and let’s find out which MIAA campus has Madden esports bragging rights!”

The game will be played on Xbox One consoles and will feature the current-gen version of Madden NFL 22. Individuals can register at www.TheMIAA.com/Madden. This event is open to all students and does not require participation on an eSports team.

"We're honored that MIAA has trusted us to help build the conference's first esports tournaments," said Launch Esports Executive Director Darin David. "Esports are skyrocketing in popularity and are an integral part of many students' lives. We're looking forward to working with the conference office and MIAA member institutions to create an exhilarating experience for their students."
