MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. - (Championship Central | ResultsThe University of Central Missouri wins the 2021 MIAA Men's Golf Championship after carding a 10-over par 874 (292-287-295). The title is the MIAA-record 23rd for the Mules, with the last one coming in 2015. The three-round championship was played at the Shangri-La Golf Course and Resort in Monkey Island, Okla. On the second day today, inclement weather, which included snow showers, halted play for several hours in the early afternoon.

UCM held a slim lead after the first day (two rounds) over Washburn and held on Tuesday, despite unfavorable playing conditions. Temps were in the low 40s and falling as snow made the course wet.

Central Missouri, ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II Central regional rankings (April 15), has now earned an
automatic qualification for the NCAA Regional, May 6-8 at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo.

Washburn, with a 20-over par 884 (291-296-297), took second place. The Ichabods had a one-stroke lead after the first round with a 291 compared to UCM's 292.

Individual champion Luke Palmowski of Rogers State helped the Hillcats to a third-place finish. Palmowski was outstanding during round two with a tournament-low round of 65, which also set a school record for a low round. He finished with a 5-under par 211 (71-65-75), seven strokes better than second-place finisher Griffin Mott of Washburn.
