MIAA Announces 2021 All-MIAA Volleyball Awards And Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollege Athletics Association announced its All-MIAA teams and postseason award winners for the 2021 season.
 
Central Missouri’s Audrey Fisher was voted as the MIAA’s Player of the Year for the 2021 season. Fisher led the Jennies offensive this season with 319 kills to rank third in the league while her .382 hitting percentage ranked fourth. Defensively, the senior middle blocker tallied 96 blocks (20 solo, 76 assisted) to rank fifth in the MIAA at 0.96 blocks per set. She also added 49 digs and 27 services aces on the season. With Fisher’s help, the Jennies finished the regular season with a record of 25-3 overall and 18-2 in the MIAA for UCM to claim its 25th regular season championship.
 
The 2021 MIAA Freshman of the Year award went to Northwest Missouri’s Payton Kirchhoefer. Kirchhoefer led the MIAA with 400 total kills and 3.92 kills per set. Defensively, she tallied 95 digs and 42 total blocks (seven solo, 35 assisted). Kirchhoefer helped the Bearcats to a 24-4 record overall and 17-3 record in the Association. 
 
Flip Piontek was voted as the 2021 MIAA Coach of the Year by his coaching peers. Piontek guided UCM to the program’s 25th regular season MIAA title with a record of 18-2 in the league and 25-3 overall.
