Bracket And Pairings Set For 2021 MIAA Women’s Soccer Championship

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA has announced the bracket and pairings for the 2021 MIAA Women’s Soccer Championship. The official bracket is available here.

Central Missouri (15-2-1, 9-1-1 MIAA) won its second consecutive regular-season championship with 28 conference points this season to earn the top seed for the 2021 championship. The Jennies will host eighth-seeded Fort Hays State (8-7-3, 5-6 MIAA) on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg, Mo. The Tigers finished the season with 15 points for the final spot in the championship field.

The second seed went to Emporia State (15-2-1, 9-2 MIAA) who finished with 27 league points. The Hornets will host Northeastern State (8-7-3, 5-5-1 MIAA) on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. in Emporia, Kan. The RiverHawks qualified for the championship with 16 conference points and lost a head-to-head tiebreaker to Washburn to become the seventh seed.  

Northwest Missouri (12-5-1, 8-2-1 MIAA) secured the third seed with 25 conference points and won the head-to-head tiebreaker over Central Oklahoma. Northwest will take on Washburn (9-6-2, 5-5-1 MIAA). The Bearcats and Ichabods are set for a 1 p.m. game in Maryville, Mo. on Sunday, Nov. 7. Washburn totaled 16 league points and won a head-to-head tie breaker against Northeastern State for the sixth seed in the tournament.

The fourth seed in the tournament will be Central Oklahoma (12-4-2, 8-2-1 MIAA) with 25 conference points. The Bronchos will host fifth seed Missouri Western on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. in Edmond, Okla. The Griffons (9-7-2, 6-5 MIAA) had 18 conference points and is making their first championship appearance since 2018.

All quarterfinal matches will be available on The MIAA Network. Winner of the quarterfinals on Sunday, Nov.7 will advance the semifinal matches on Friday, November 12. The site of the semifinal and championship matches will be played at the highest remaining seed after the quarterfinals.
